Penrith Fire Station respond to a vehicle fire on the southbound side of the M6.

Just after 3pm this afternoon, both Penrith appliances were mobilised to a vehicle fire on the southbound M6 in between J41-J42.

On arrival the van was well alight and the two fire fighters quickly got to work with a hose reel jet stopping the fire from spreading into the rear storage area of the van.

Crews were on scene for just over an hour.
