REVIEW: Bad Boys Ride Or Die The Fourth Instalment Shows No Signs Of Slowing

By Gary

With a fourth instalment of the Bad Boys franchise Bad Boys: Ride or Die shows no signs of it slowing or dropping in quality.

The fourth entry in the revitalised buddy cop, action, comedy franchise, Bad Boys: Ride or Die sees wisecracking Miami cops Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) embark on a dangerous mission to clear the name of their late police captain when he gets linked to drug cartels.

When I heard they were making another Bad Boys film I wasn’t very interested and I thought it’s time had come and gone.

When I saw it I have to say I loved it, I really wasn’t expecting the music and score to give me the massive chills and nostelgia buzz.

Miami looks beautiful with the orange and teal tones and the two lead characters really are great and they play off each other so well.

Even if they wrote something in the script that was so-so, you know you’ve got a couple of great actors who will make it work.

There were a couple of lines in this movie where I thought to myself, on paper that probably wasn’t all that funny, but they found a delivery that got a chuckle out of me.

Throughout his career I have never been a big fan of Martin Lawrence but I have to say he is great in this, he got all the funniest lines.

While Will Smith still has that air of a big star about him, he kind of plays a straight man for Lawrence to bounce off.

There’s everything you could want out of a ‘Bad Boys’ movie in this one.

The action is there, the laughs are there, there’s a great menacing villain and there are some fun side characters to help carry the load.

We are four movies into the series and have yet to see a drop-off in standard whatsoever.

My Rating: 8/10
