Cumbria Police have made four arrests following the theft of a handbag from store on King Street in Whitehaven.

The report of an incident in the West Cumbrian town was received at 1:24pm on Thursday, May 30.

Three men aged 32, 41 and 53 have been arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

While a 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of breach of a court order.

All four remain in custody.
