West Cumbria Bowls Leagues: New Joint Leaders In The Triples As Workington Dominant In The Fours

The West Cumbria Leagues have started and the Mixed Triples League is shaping up to be a fantastic battle for top spot as Workington are dominant in the Fours League.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League

After the round of games on Tuesday, May 7, there are joint leaders as Whitehaven A beat Egremont 9-0 and Wigton were 7-2 winners against Croft.

Seaton took a close game against Seascale 5-4 and Cleator Moor lost 3-6 at home to Workington.

The top two meet on Tuesday, May 13, as Whitehaven A welcome Wigton as third placed Workington face Maryport and Seaton head to Cockermouth to play Croft.

Harris Park B travel to Egremont while Harris Park A host Whitehaven B and Workington side Vulcan Park play Seascale.

West Cumbria Fours League

In the two games played on Friday, May 3, Whitehaven B lost 2-5 at home to Seaton while Whitehaven A won 5-2 at Maryport after Workington A had beaten Cleator Moor 7-0 earlier in the week.

With a full round of fixtures taking place on Friday, May 10, the league table is starting to take shape.

Workington A recorded a 6-1 win over Maryport to move five points clear as Whitehaven A won 5-2 against Cleator Moor while Vulcan Park’ 5-2 win over Workington B moved them into fifth and Fitz Park moved up the table with a 5-2 win at home to Whitehaven B.

On May 17 Vulcan Park head to league leaders Workington A as Whitehaven A travel to Seaton while Maryport make the trip to Whitehaven B and Cleator Moor face Fitz Park.
