Hospice at Home West Cumbria have retained their royal patronage as His Majesty King Charles III has reaffirmed his commitment to the charity.

In a letter from Buckingham Palace, stated: “I am pleased to confirm that His Majesty would be delighted to retain the Patronage of Hospice at Home West Cumbria. It is my great pleasure to share this news with you, to mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation”.

Chief Executive of the charity, Julie Monk said: “It is a privilege to welcome His Majesty The King as our charity Patron and we look forward to inviting him back to visit us in the near future.”

King Charles started his patronage of the charity in 1997 as HRH The Prince of Wales, and has been a supporter of Hospice at Home West Cumbria since then, recognising the invaluable care and support the charity provides to patients and families living with a palliative diagnosis. 

Brendon Cook, Chair of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the news: “We are thrilled to have received the letter from Buckingham Palace announcing that His Majesty will be retaining his patronage with our charity.

“King Charles has supported us for many years, and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for his service.”

The continued Patronage of His Majesty King Charles will undoubtedly strengthen the efforts of Hospice at Home West Cumbria as they continue their vital work in the community.

The Kings ongoing support serves a testament to the importance of compassionate home nursing and end of life care across West Cumbria.
