Women’s Rugby Union is West Cumbria has entered the history books as Workington Finches made it back to Back Papa Johns Plate final wins.
After winning the competition last season Workington Finches are returned to the final after they beat the Amber Valley Tigers Ladies.
In the final held on today, May 11, the Workington side proved too good for Westcliff Ladies as they ran out 22-10 winners.

In the final at Worcester’ Sixways Stadium the finches ran in four trys with Lottie Cammack, Beth Sunderland, Beth Adams and Megan Donald.
Megan Donald added a conversion to make it 22-10.
The journey started against local rivals Keswick on October 1 as they were knocked out of the Papa Johns Cup 12-10.
Two awarded home wins against Northallerton and North Ribblesdale sandwiched a 15-53 demolition of Durham City and now a 82-0 win over Amber Valley Tigers Ladies.
Westcliff went out of the Papa Johns Cup to Southend Saints before receiving a bye and then were awarded a home win over Bexley.
A close game against Hackney Ladies 2nds ended 12-17 to Westcliff who then ran out 59-26 winners over Worthing Warriors in the semifinal.
Then in the final on Saturday, May 11, the defending Finches retained their title with a 22-10 win over Westcliff Ladies.
