Schools Encouraged To Apply For Historic Royal Palaces Fund By Cumbrian MP

Carlisle MP, John Stevenson has encourage head teachers in the Carlisle Constituency to apply for funding to take pupils to visit Historic Royal Palaces.

The Access Fund for Schools from the Historic Royal Palaces, offers pupils the opportunity to have a high quality learning experience at an important historical site.

Topics of the facilitated sessions range from Henry VIII’s vibrant court to the education of Queen Victoria to crime and punishment at The Tower of London.

The funding would cover or contribute to entrance fees, education sessions and travel costs.

Encouraging schools to apply John said: “This is an excellent opportunity for pupils in Carlisle to visit some of our great palaces and see history come alive. I would encourage as many schools as possible to apply.”

Historic Royal Palaces, is an independent charity that cares for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace.

Applications are open until Friday, May 31. Spaces are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis.
