Wasdale Mountain Rescue Help Walker Down From Scafell After Ambulance Request

The Wasdale Mountain Rescue team were called out after a walker had slipped injuring her ankle.

The incident on Saturday, May 4, was the teams 47 of the year so far and came after the North West Ambulance Service had requested their help in the drizzle.

A full callout of fifteen and Jess was swiftly made to aid the walker who was unable to put any weight on her ankle.

An advance team member arrived on the misty scene and made a medical assessment along with making them safe.

When the rest of the team arrived pain relief was given and her ankle splinted before the stretcher carry to Brackenclose.

A handover was then given to the awaiting ambulance team.

We wish the walker well and hope to see her back on the fells soon.
