Furness Coastguard along with other rescue agencies were called out to reports of a person stuck in quicksand at Grange over Sands promenade.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue service were first on scene and started the rescue on May 2.
The person had managed to self rescue, however their dog was stuck in the quick sand.

Coastguard teams from Furness and Arnside arrived and assisted the fire service providing extra mud rescue equipment.
Once the dog was freed, both owner and dog were checked over by North West Ambulance Service.
The dog owner had come to the area for the day from Manchester and may not have been aware of the quicksand risk.
