A multi-agency search for a missing person resulted in positive outcome as they were found.
Whitehaven Coastguard were tasked, alongside Maryport Coastguard, by Cumbria Police to respond to reports of a missing person last seen on the beach at Harrington.

After quickly arriving on scene, a hasty search was conducted along the shoreline around the person’s last known position, with Workington Lifeboat searching the sea and guiding the shore team to people or items of interest to investigate.
Rescue 199 Helicopter from Prestwick was quickly on the scene to assist the search from the air, able to cover a large area quickly.
With the area thoroughly searched from land, sea, and air, plans were made to extend the search area along the coast.
However news was received that the missing person was found elsewhere by Cumbria Police.
A spokesperson for Whitehaven Coastguard said: “This is a good example of a Multi-Agency Search resulting in a positive outcome.
“We would like to thank the first informants from both incidents today for being vigilant while enjoying our coast.”
