Cumberland Council have blocked off part ways of a footpath on the Main Street of Cleator.

Environmental Health is in the process of organising repairs to 19 Main Street, and the footway will be completely blocked off to prevent pedestrian access due to safety reasons.

A spokesperson for the council said: “We have closed off a section of footway on the A5086 Cleator – Main Street due to an unsafe derelict building with slates falling from its roof.

“We will update you when temporary works are completed.”
