Teens Arrested Following Racially-Aggravated Assault In Carlisle

Two teens have been arrested followed a racially-aggravated assault in Carlisle.

Cumbria Police received a report on Wednesday, April 24 of an assault in the Brookside area, involving a group of boys.

Following the first incident at 4:55pm a second incident was reported, involving the same group of boys and a man from Carlisle, this time in Heysham Park.

The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

Cumbria Police arrested a boy in his early teens on suspicion of racially-aggravated actual bodily harm and racially aggravated harassment with fear of violence.

A second boy, also in his early teens, from Preston, was arrested on suspicion of racially-aggravated actual bodily harm.

Both remain in police custody.

Officers are continuing to investigate, and a number of enquiries are ongoing.
