A registered sex offender who broke the terms of a court order has been jailed for communicated with a child online amongst other breaches.
Ryan Walker, 18, of Valley Drive, Carlisle was given a 14-month youth detention order at Carlisle Crown Court on April 25.

Ryan Walker was sentenced for two counts of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register, engaging in sexual communication with a child and facilitating an offence of sexual activity with a child.
Detective Constable Anna Ritson from the Constabulary’s Management of Sexual and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team said: “As part of an investigation Walker’s phone was sezied and examined by officers.
“Officers located a number of online usernames and a new passport which had not been notified to police by Walker who was well aware of his notification requirements.
“Also located were messages exchanged between Walker and a child.”
Continuing, DC Ritson said: “Our main priority is to protect vulnerable people from sexual harm and we work hard to monitor and manage people who are subject to such orders.
“As in this case, we will find out if they breach the terms of these preventative orders and we will do all we can to ensure they are held accountable for their offending.
“If you are concerned that a child is being, or is vulnerable to sexual abuse or exploitation, please report this to the constabulary immediately though any of our various reporting channels.”
