Crowdfunding Launched To Help Fund Repairs To Community Changing Rooms

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched after a sporting community’s changing rooms were broken into and vandalised.

Border City Lacrosse who ground share with Irthing Vale Cricket Club have launched the campaign to repair the changing rooms after they were broken into after making the upgrades less than a year ago.

The facilities have been left in an unusable state as the club state as part of the plea “Anything that they could have, they have smashed, including the new shower unit which is beyond repair.

“We believe we can repair the cubicle as this was very expensive as well as the shower being destroyed the electrics damaged.

“We now need to fundraise to replace the shower, repair the electrics, blinds and locks as a bare minimum to bring the facilities back into use.”

Damage to the changing rooms – Border City Lacrosse

The damages have put the Lacrosse teams summer plans into doubt as they have no safe place to change but they also have to find the funds to make the repairs while continuing to run.

With the club adding: “The Club has worked hard to make the ground a community asset and coach lacrosse to juniors in the area for free.

“Being a small club we constantly struggle for funds and had not budgeted to replace work we completed less than a year ago.

“Our plans for the summer are now at risk as we no longer have a safe changing space until we can get everything repaired and tested.

“Nobody likes to ask for financial help, but any contribution would go a long way to helping us get past this and carry on with developing lacrosse and cricket at the ground.”
