Penrith Fire Station put out a camp fire that had spread into grass and gorse.
Responding to the call yesterday, April 20, around 8pm, one appliance from Penrith was mobilised to a fire in the open near Mosedale.

On our arrival they found a camp fire had spread to a large area of grass and gorse.
The people responsible are believed to have just left the area and luckily some people nearby had spotted the flames and smoke.
The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
Once the fire was fully extinguished the crew tidied up and disposed of the mess people had left which included glass bottles and bits of pallets that had been thrown into the beck and bushes.
