Wasdale Mountain Rescue responded quickly to a medical issue a walker had while descending Scafell Pike.
The Mountain Rescue team received the call on Wednesday, April 17, in the afternoon about a walker who was suffering from a medical issue, close to Wasdale Head on the descent from Scafell Pike.

A very quick response was possible as there was a vehicle with team members in the valley, with others responding to the full callout.
Once on scene a medical assessment was made, before the walker was placed into a stretcher.
The short journey was made to the road where a handover to the North West Ambulance Service completed the rescue and the team returned to base.
A spokesperson for Wasdale Mountain Rescue said: “We hope the walker recovers well, and hope to see him back on the fells soon.”
The mountain rescue teams around the county are volunteers and rely on charity to fund their life saving work.
