Cumbria’s sides turned their attention to the Papa Johns Cup competitions with mixed results.
The end of season cup competition has come under scrutiny as sides have been struggling after a long season with a few teams pulling out of the competition.
In the Region 1 Plate competition Kendal lost 14-22 to Stockport on Saturday, April 13, in their only group game after Alnwick and Blaydon pulled out of the Plate competition.
For Penrith all three teams have stood down in their Region 1 Shield Pool with Anselmians, Cleckheaton and Pontefract withdrawing from the competition.
In the Region 2 Aspatria lost 45-19 at Vale of Lune on April 13 in the Plate while Cockermouth gave their game to Kirkby Lonsdale.
In the next round Kirkby Lonsdale head to Keswick on Saturday, April 20.

In the Counties Championship St Benedicts lost 6-19 to Sunderland on April 13 as Wigton were awarded their tie with Medicals in the Northern Plate while in the Sheild Creighton made the trip to Bolton but sadly returned with a 59-7 defeat.
Wigton will welcome Wetherby in the next round on April 20 in the Northern Plate.
