A 29-year-old has been charged with GBH after an incident in Whitehaven left a man with serious injuries.
Cumbria Police we’re contacted at 3:08am on Sunday, April 14, following an incident on George Street which left a man with serious injuries.
The injured man, aged in his 30s, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
He remains there today, April 16, in a critical but stable condition.
Police arrested three men following the incident.
Two of those men were released with no further action on Monday evening, April 15.
Liam McConnell, 29, of no fixed address, has been charged this morning with GBH with intent.
He is currently remanded prior to appear before Workington Magistrates’ Court.
Officers remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning and is yet to come forward.
