A Cumbrian man has been charged with a 90-year-old’s murder in Barrow.

Police were called to a residence on Abbey Road, in Barrow on Sunday, March 17, following reports of an incident.

Geoffrey Kershaw, 90, from Abbey Road, Barrow died in hospital on March 22, following the incident.

William Prince, 64, of Abbey Road, Barrow was charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Barrow Magistrates on Thursday, April 11.
