Walkers Breaks Leg On Eamont Way

Medical services were called out as a walker breaks their leg on the Eamont Way.

The North West Ambulance Service received a report on April 6 that a walker had suffered a broken lower leg while on the Eamont Way near Pooley Bridge.

Eighteen members of the Penrith Mountain Team responded when North West Ambulance Service requested help.

On arrival Penrith team members assisted a Cumbria BEEP doctor with assessment and treatment of the casualty, before extracting him across fields on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.

A spokesperson for Penrith Mountain Rescue said: “Our thanks to members of the public who assisted before we arrived on scene, keeping the casualty warm, and lending waterproofs to his wife and son.”
