Windscale AFC claimed the Alan Hood Cup in dramatic fashion after a nail biting final to win first silverware in twenty five years.
Heading over to the Dave Clark Arena on March 29, Windscale face opposition who sit four places above them in the Wearside League and are looking at another final.

Windscale took the lead after 20 minutes through Matty Pierce but Richmond Town responded five minutes later with Nathan Fisher equalising.
Windscale regained the lead five minutes later after a long ball ended up in the back of the Richmond net, and went in leading 1-2 at half time.
A third followed for the Atoms on 66 minutes as Rhys Singleton curled the ball into the top left hand corner of the goal from a corner.
Substitute Luke McCormack made it 2-3 on 88 minutes setting up a frantic final few minutes as Richmond Town pushed for an equaliser that never came.

After the match the Windscale manager thank the travelling fans for their support calling them “unreal” and the “unbelievable” atmosphere they created.
To the host and beaten finalists they complimented their sportsmanship and class in defeat.
Before looking at the club saying that they had had a rough time since January with injuries affecting the small squad.
The development of the club “is really starting to build and create something special” with a strong youth section with 200 kids playing it was important the senior side competes at the highest level possible.
They hope the cup final win after coming close last season “shows what we’re capable of and can be the start of further success.”
Windscale return to league action on Saturday, April 6, when they host Gateshead Leam Rangers as they look to finish as high up the Wearside Premier Division in their final ten games.
