Mystery In Wonderland At Holker Hall And Gardens This Easter

Do something different this Easter and take part in an interactive family-friendly mystery event in the spectacular grounds of Holker Hall and Gardens.

Malice in Wonderland is part mystery, part scavenger hunt and takes place at the historic venue on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Families can draw upon their best sleuthing skills as they try and solve the mystery of the jam tart thief and work out which Wonderlander is to blame.

With help from familiar characters, who will be roaming around the gardens in full costume, visitors will need to uncover clues, complete crazy quests and unravel riddles.

A child ticket costs £15 and includes one free adult, with every additional adult costing £5.

It should take no more than 90 minutes to solve the mystery.

If mystery solving is not your thing, then on the Saturday and Sunday only, families can enjoy face painting and indulge their creative side by decorating their own egg (£2pp) before having a go at egg rolling.

For the adults, there is also a florist from ‘In the Meadow’ selling their stunning easter posies on Easter Sunday.

From Good Friday, March 29, through to Easter Monday, April 1, visitors can also follow enchanted treasure trails through the 23 acres of formal and woodland gardens.

A child ticket for Malice in Wonderland on the Sunday also includes egg decorating and rolling within the price.

If visitors decide not to be involved in solving the jam thief mystery, they can pay separately for entry to the other garden events only.

Fran Horne, head of visitor services, said: “We’re so excited to welcome our visitors for the start of the 2024 season.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to offer an even better experience for our visitors, including improvements to the famous water cascade and a wonderful new children’s area, Willow’s Den, to play in and explore.

“The arrival of Spring is always a magical time in our gardens, and so there is no better location to host an array of Easter family fun events.

“Whether you are creative, like to let your imagination run wild, or want to simply enjoy the beautiful gardens and refuel in the cafe, Holker Hall and Gardens will offer something for everyone this bank holiday weekend.”
