Cumbria Police Respond To Suspected ‘Ordnance’ Brought To School

Cumbria Police responded to the report of a suspected ordnance that was brought to a school.

The police force were called at 11:35am today, March 19, after a report was received of a suspected ordnance being brought into Appleby Grammar School.

Officers attended the scene and, as a precaution, all children were immediately relocated to a separate part of the premises.

Advice was sought from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team and it was determined that the item was a replica and not a viable device.

There is no risk to the pupils or the public.
