The semifinals for the Women’s Cumberland County Cup have been drawn with only one of last seasons finalists able to make it through.

Current holders Carlisle United Ladies were taken to penalties by Lancashire FA Women’s league side Whitehaven AFC Ladies in the first round on Sunday, February 25.

In a tight goalless game it was a 100 percent record for the hosts from the spot as Whitehaven AFC’s ninth penalty went over the bar.

The final season as Workington Reds Ladies before they change their name to Workington Town has them heading to Abbeytown Ladies while it is a repeat of last year’s final as Penrith AFC host Carlisle United.

Both fixtures are due to be played on Sunday, March 17.
