Cumbria Police are on the hunt for the owners of eleven chickens that have been found.

Police are investigating a case where nine hens and two cockerels have been stolen.

The animals were taken along with their food barrel and pellets.

Police say the incident took place 10pm on Friday, March 28, and 6am on Saturday, March 9.

A police statement said: “Unfortunately this is no great escape or picnic retreat, these are somebody’s pets

“If you have experienced similar this weekend please contact Cumbria Police on 101 quoting log number CP-20240309-0102.

“Please ask for your report to be tagged for PC 3157 Stubbings’ attention when she returns to duty.”
