Cumbrians Asked To Come Forward With Tales Of Potential Big Cat Sightings

Cumbrians are being asked to come forward with stories of any potential big cat sightings in the county.

Harry, 16 from Lancashire has put out a request for people to come forward with stories of any possible big cat sightings in the Lake District.

Many people may be asking why but it comes after an experience on his travels in the area and Harry wants to know more.

“The main push that made me start this investigation was after witnessing a large black panther like cat myself while I was on the 505 bus to Coniston,” Harry explained.

“I watched as the creature ran and jumped over a dry stone wall towards a smaller wooded area that connects to Grizedale forest.”

This is not something Harry is new to as he runs a YouTube channel called I Talk Cryptids where he publishes his investigations and is a member of the UK BRT.

It is not just a passing interest as Harry said: “I’ve always been interested in the big cat phenomena here in Britain, its one that fascinates not just me but countless other people.

“Over the years I’ve managed to work with other investigators and teams from all around the UK, such as the Winter Hill Investigation Team located in Bolton.

“These Investigations have really helped me connect with other like minded people from not just the UK but all over the world.”

During his investigation Harry has recently that we found several dead sheep with puncture wounds around their necks and muzzles.

The bodies are all in different stages of decay indicating that whatever it is, keeps returning to this specific area.

“Last week I collected some of the wool and flesh around the bite marks and possible big cat scat from around the carcasses in hope to send them off to be tested.”

This is not his only line of enquiry as he mentioned earlier he has experience working with other groups and in the summer plans to head to a UK conference of cryptozoologists.

“During the summer next year, I’ll be speaking at an event called the UK Cryptid Conference down in Bridgewater, Somerset to talk about some of the strange cases of unexplainable creatures people claim to see in Britain.”

While the likelihood of big cats wandering the fells might seem something of science fiction however the reports of unusual animals being spotted in the UK has increased in recent years.
