The A590 in Cumbria is closed in both directions between the A592, near Newby Bridge and B5277, near Meathop due to a serious collision.

Emergency services are in attendance including Cumbria Police and the National Highways area team are on scene to assist with traffic management.

Traffic is being diverted via local roads.
