As Cumbria suffered from freezing temperatures Coniston Mountian Rescue were called on to help a driver who had got stuck on an icy road.

Heading out on Wednesday, January 17, the driver got into difficulties at Low Scar Wood, Grizdale.
The owner stopped and called for help before he slid off the road as the ice was thick on the untreated back roads.
Cumbria Police informed Coniston Mountain Rescue for assistance and they despatched a Land Rover to the scene.
With the help of a passing farmer, the car was pushed away from danger and the driver was able return downhill the way he had come.
