An injured paraglider was rescued as multiple mountain rescue teams and the coastguard worked together.
In a nearly six hour operation Wasdale Mountain Rescue were alerted, by Cumbria Police, to a paraglider who had tumbled 50m down steep scree at Wind Gap after failing launch on January 6.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue were called to support the rescue effort but were needed to respond to another call out and due to the likelihood of serious injury the Coastguard Helicopter from Prestwick was dispatched.
They reached the scene and winched their paramedic to the scene to begin treatment before ferrying Wasdale MRT team members to the scene to support.
The paraglider was successfully stabilised and transferred to hospital after suffering injuries to their leg and pelvis, according to the Mountain Rescue report.
