The Carlisle MP, John Stevenson, has welcomed the announcement of two Government Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund grants.
The first is for Age UK Carlisle and Eden, who have been awarded approximately £38,000 and the second is approximately £67,000 awarded to Carlisle Youth Zone.
Commenting on the announcement John Stevenson said: “Age UK Carlisle and Eden, and the Carlisle Youth Zone are both excellent organisations that provide much needed services in our community.
“I am delighted that both have been successful in their bids for this funding.”
The £76m fund is part of the £101.5m package of support for charities and community organisations across England announced by the Chancellor in the Spring Budget of 2023.
The grants are specifically for organisations delivering critical frontline services, and which are most impacted by increased demand and rising delivery costs.
