The GT7 Academy program continues to prove a successful starting point for young footballers as former player becomes a Nike sponsored athlete.

Current Manchester United Ladies under 16 and England under 16 Martha Allington has put pen to paper and become a Nike sponsored athlete joining the likes of Beth Mead, Chloe Kelly and Georgia Stanway.

The south Cumbrian who scored in United’s cup final defeat to Arsenal in April looks to have a promising career ahead of her.

Allington’s former club GT7 Academy took to social media to congratulate her saying: “The youngest Nike female football athlete in Europe. Yes it’s our Martha.

“The former GT7 Girls Football Academy player, who currently plays for Manchester United and England has signed on the dotted line to become a Nike sponsored player.

“Martha will be back down at the GT7 academy in the new year… more details to follow in the coming months.”

The current GT7 Academy Ladies side will return to action in the New Year when they welcome Clitheroe Wolves to Kendal on Sunday, January 7, as they continue to push at the top of the Lancashire Women’s County League.
