The 2023 Oxford Word Of The Year Has Been Revealed

The 2023 Oxford word of the year has been revealed and the public have voted for rizz.

After 32,000 votes the noun rizz beat out three other words that may have needed some explaining.

Rizz, from charisma, is the ability someone has to use style, charm, or attractiveness to attract another person, with its peak use coming after an interview with Tom Holland.

The Spider-Man actor was asked about his Rizz, reported in Billboard, he replied: “I have no rizz whatsoever. I have limited rizz.”

Two of the three beaten finalists are fairly new words with Swiftie, perhaps surprising not taking the title.

Swiftie has been increasing used as American Taylor Swift has grown into a cultural icon with her Eras Tour.

Situationship has been a slower burner coming about in the 2010s but has seen an increase in use as people have become more fluid with their relationships.

The rise of AI has seen a return of prompt.
