Cumbria’s Rugby Union Sides Fight The Weather As Some Return To League Action

After a break for some Cumbria’s rugby union sides tried to return to league action but a few fell foul of the cold weather.

In Regional 1 North West the league actions returns on Saturday, December 2, as leaders Rossendale head to Sandbach while Blackburn make the trip to Manchester and Macclesfield welcome Kendal.

After a weekend off Regional 2 North returns on Saturday, December 2, as Northern host Durham City and Middlesbrough face Stockton.

Games have fell to the weather as Upper Eden’s match with Morpeth, Keswick versus Consett, Aspatria against Percy Park and Cockermouth at home to West Hartlepool have been postponed.

There was one game in Regional 2 North West as Liverpool St Helens were beaten 24-25 by Vale of Lune on Saturday, November 25.

The top two versus the bottom two as leaders Birkenhead Park travel to Liverpool St Helens on Saturday, December 2, while Bowden were due to head to Kirkby Lonsdale but the match has fallen foul of the frosts.

Crewe & Nantwich face a tough challenge at Firwood Waterloo as Burnage take a trip to Vale of Lune, Douglas (I.O.M) face Winnington Park and Whitchurch play Altrincham Kersal.

In the Cumbria league the final three games of 2023 start on Saturday, December 2, as St Benedicts heading to Penrith 2nd and Keswick 2nd take on Workington.

Egremont won’t be making the trip to Windermere as the game has been postponed along with Creighton match against Aspatria 2nd and Whitehaven against Wigton.

Carlisle were to host Millom but the visitors have been unable to field a team.
