North West Women’s Regional Football League Hits Half Way Point

The North West Women’s Regional League has hit the half way point of the season for some teams.

In the Premier Division leaders Cheadle Town were 2-0 up against Salford City before the referee abandoned the match on Sunday, November 12.

The only other game to take place ended with Curzon Ashton losing 2-4 to Blackburn Community.

Blackburn Community will look to make it a double victory over Curzon Ashton on Sunday, November 19, while Darwen look to go joint top with a win at home to Salford City as a win for Tranmere at Crewe Alexandra would send them back to the top and Bury face Fleetwood Town Wrens.

At the top of Division One North Accrington Stanley beat Carlisle United 2-0 while Preston North End won 3-2 against Penwortham Town to move three points clear on Sunday, November 12.

Workington Reds ran out 5-2 winners at home to Radcliffe and Morecambe lost 6-1 at Bolton Wanderers.

Penrith AFC game at Fleetwood Town Wrens was postponed.

Carlisle United’s game with Workington has fell to a waterlogged pitch on Sunday, November 19, Penrith host Bolton Wanderers and Radcliffe face Penwortham Town.

In Division One South there was nearly full fixture list on Sunday, November 12, as leaders Wythenshawe ran out 13-2 winners at home to Mossley Hills, Runcorn stay second with a 2-6 win at Litherland and St Helens drop to fourth as Chester won 0-5 to take third.

Northwich difficult season continues with a 6-0 defeat at Warrington Town as Altrincham lost 7-0 at Ellesmere Port.

The only surviving the weather on Sunday, November 19, is Warrington Town’s match with Litherland Remyca.
