League Lead Changes Hands In Lancashire FA Women’s County Leagues

There is a change in the sides leading the Lancashire FA Women’s Leagues after the opening round in November.

In the Premier Division Wigan Athletic jumped to the top of the table with a 3-2 win over Colne on Sunday, November 5, while Clitheroe’s trip to Chorley and Blackpool FC’s game GT7 Academy were both postponed.

Bolton Wanderers were held to a 0-0 draw with Burnley while Accrington Stanley ran out 14-1 winners over Stanwix.

GT7 Academy have a chance to go back to the top on Sunday, November 12, when they host Bolton Wanderers, Colne face Sir Tom Finney, Blackpool FC head to Clitheroe and Burnley welcome Accrington Stanley.

In Championship the Wigan Athletic won 0-2 at leaders Whitehaven AFC on Sunday, November 5, as second placed Euxton won 4-2 at Haslingden while Horwich took at 4-3 win at home to Penrith and Lancaster City beat Preston North End 0-1.

The meeting between Fleetwood Town and Bolton County was postponed.

On Sunday, November 12, Whitehaven AFC head to Bolton County as Wigan Athletic host Horwich St Mary’s.

Haslingden welcome Preston North End, Lancaster City make a short trip to Fleetwood Town and Penrith AFC play Blackburn Eagles.

Division One North/West leaders Rosegrove 0-7 win at Morecambe puts them three points clear as Chipping’s game with Lostock St Gerards was postponed on Sunday, November 5.

Sir Tom Finney move into second with a 3-1 win over St Annes and Cadley’s game against Blackpool Town was also postponed.

There are no games on Sunday, November 5, as both Cadley against Blackpool Town and Chipping versus Lostock St Gerards have been postponed.

In Division One South/East leaders Lostock St Gerards were 3-1 winners over second placed Penwortham Town, who now share the place with Euxton after their 3-6 win at Clitheroe Wolves on Sunday, November 5, as Radcliffe and Langho couldn’t be separated with a 2-2 draw.

The Blackburn derby between the Eagles and Community along with AFC Wigan and Hindley Juniors were postponed.

Two games survive on Sunday, November 12, as Penwortham Town head to Blackburn Eagles looking to apply pressure to Lostock and Clitheroe face AFC Wigan.
