An Egremont man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for multiple historic indecent assaults.

Donald Eaton, of Beckgreen, Egremont was sentenced to 12 years for 13 offences of indecent assault against one victim.
Eaton was found guilty of all 13 offences on Wednesday, October 25.
Today, October 27, the 73-year-old was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court for multiple historic indecent assaults that occurred in 1988 and 1991 in Whitehaven.
Detective Constable Debi Gilmour said: “It’s never too late to report a crime.
“No matter how much time has passed we will do our best to investigate the crimes committed on behalf of the victims.
“Support is also available, and the Constabulary works closely with trusted partner agencies to provide the appropriate support, which is tailored to an individual’s circumstances.
“Taking that first step to telling somebody what has happened to you is often the most difficult.
“But please know that if you do, you will be provided with information which will enable you to make choices on how you wish to move forward.”
