League Action Continues In The North West Women’s Regional Football League

League action continued for most of the North West Women’s Regional football league sides while some were off in the FA Cup.

Blackburn Community Sports have moved four points off the top off the Premier Division after a 0-5 victory at Salford City Lionesses on Sunday, October 22, while Curzon Ashton are up to fifth with a 3-2 win against Fleetwood Town Wrens.

League leaders Tranmere Rovers are back in action with a trip to West Didsbury on Sunday, October 29, as Cheadle Town host Crewe Alexandra and Blackburn Community head to Fleetwood Town Wrens.

The bottom two meet as Blackpool FC host Bury FC and Salford City Lionesses looking to move away from the bottom two, welcome Curzon Ashton.

In Division One North Carlisle United Ladies are still on the hunt for their first points after a 0-3 defeat at home to Accrington Stanley who move into the top spot as Radcliffe FC beat, now joint second, Preston North End 6-1.

Penrith AFC welcomed Mancunian Unity to an upgraded Frenchfield Stadium in the FA Cup but sadly for the Cumbrian side their run came to an end as the visitors took an eight goal thriller 3-5 to advance.

Heading to fellow bottom side Fleetwood Town Wrens, Carlisle United will be looking to kick start their season on Saturday, October 29, as leaders Accrington Stanley face Penwortham Town.

Mancunian Unity will be looking to take advantage of any slip by Accrington when they face Haslingden while Preston North End will want to get back to winning ways at Morecambe and Penrith AFC will be wanting a repeat of their last game at the Fibrus Community Stadium when they make the short trip to Workington Reds.

In Division One South Mossley Hills have moved into the top four with an 8-2 win over Litherland Remyca and bottom club Northwich Vixens picked up their first points of the season with a 2-4 victory at Altrincham on Sunday, October 22.

Three of the top four are back in action on Sunday, October 29, as joint leaders Wythenshawe head to Mossley Hills while Runcorn travel to Northwich.

St Helens head to Ellesmere Port as Altrincham take on Hindley and Litherland Remyca host Warrington Town.
