Dalton Cricket Club have announced the signing of former Indian Under 19 player Akhil Herwadkar for their Premier Division return.

The 2023 Division One champions have wasted no time in making the announcement following their Premier Division rivals Cockermouth and Millom

28 year old Indian Akhil Herwadkar will be joining the side for the 2024 campaign and has played for Mumbai, Delhi Daredevils and Chhattisgarh.

In a statement on social media a spokesperson for Dalton Cricket Club wrote:

“We are delighted to announce Akhil Herwadkar as our overseas professional for the 2024 season.

“Akhil is a Indian left handed opening batsman comes with a fantastic FC record of 2483 runs at an average of 36.51 in the Indian First class divisions. He is a former India u19 player and previous clubs are Mumbai, Delhi Daredevils and Chhattisgarh.

“We are hoping his wealth of experience through different world class competitions will help the club progress in the new campaign.

The south Cumbrian side made an immediate return to the Premier Division winning the 2023 title having been relegated in 2022.
