Weekend To Forget For Cumbria’s Sides In North West Women’s Regional Football League

Cumbria’s side will want to move on quickly after a disappointing round of games in the North West Women’s Regional Football League.

In the Premier Division top played bottom on Sunday, September 3, as Tranmere won 1-2 at Bury FC while Darwen lost 1-2 against Curzon Ashton and Fleetwood Town lost 1-3 at home to Cheadle Town.

Crewe Alexandra picked up their first win with a 3-1 victory against Salford City and West Didsbury jumped up to second with a 3-5 win at Blackpool.

Leaders Tranmere are at home on Sunday, September 10, against third placed Fleetwood Town while second placed West Didsbury welcome Salford City.

Darwen FC host Crewe Alexandra as Curzon Ashton face Blackpool FC and Blackburn Community play Bury FC.

In Division One North leaders Preston North End ran out 1-7 winners at Morecambe and Mancunian Unity won 3-1 at home to Accrington Stanley on Sunday, September 3.

Penrith hold onto third as Radcliffe beat them 3-2 as while Haslingden lost 2-1 at Penwortham Town.

Bolton Wanderers beat Workington Reds 3-0 and Carlisle United lost 1-5 Fleetwood Town as Cumbria’s sides all suffered defeats.

There are only three games on Sunday, September 10, as Workington Reds host Morecambe, Penrith welcome Accrington Stanley and Fleetwood Town play Haslingden.

St. Helens have taken over at the top of Division One South as Runcorn lost 3-1 at Poulton Vics while F.C. St. Helens won 0-7 at Northwich on Sunday, September 3.

Second placed Wythenshawe won 3-4 as they made the trip to Chester as Mossley Hills won 4-2 against Ellesmere Port while Hindley beat Litherland 7-1 and Warrington won 2-0 against Altrincham.

There could be new leaders on Sunday, September 10, as Runcorn play Ellesmere Port as Wythenshawe face Warrington and Northwich head to Hindley looking for their first win.
