Lancashire FA Women’s County League Kicked Off With Cumbrian Derby

There was an early Cumbrian Derby in the Lancashire FA Women’s County Leagues fixtures as Cumbria’s sides opened their season.

The Premier Division kicked off on Sunday, September 3, and Wigan Athletic Ladies top the table with a 10-0 win at home to Burnley Belvedere as new side GT7 Academy Ladies sit joint second after a 1-3 win at Accrington Stanley Women while Clitheroe Wolves won 3-1 at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Stanwix Junior Ladies sit fourth after a 1-2 win at Sir Tom Finney FC Women while Blackpool F.C. Ladies 0-1 win at Chorley Women FC puts them fifth.

GT7 Academy are back in the road on Sunday, September 10, as they head to Burnley as Stanwix welcome Colne and Chorley face Bolton Wanderers.

Whitehaven AFC Ladies will open with a Cumbrian Derby against Penrith AFC Ladies and Euxton Girls travel to Preston North End.

Whitehaven AFC head to Haslingden on Sunday, September 10, as Bolton County host Blackburn Eagles and Wigan Athletic play Penrith AFC.

Lancaster City start their campaign at home to Horwich St. Mary’s and Euxton face Fleetwood Town.

In Division One North/West an opening day Cumbrian Derby ended with a 0-13 win for Abbeytown Ladies over Kendal Town.

Blackpool Town lost 4-6 to Sir Tom Finney as Cadley FC went down 0-5 at home to Rosegrove and Morecambe FC won 3-1 against St. Annes FC.

Lostock St Gerards and Macclesfield FC will have to reschedule as the match was postponed.

Abbeytown Ladies host Blackpool Town on Sunday, September 10, as Kendal Town head to Rosegrove.

Lostock St Gerards welcome Cadley FC and Sir Tom Finney face Morecambe Women.

Early leaders Lostock St Gerards travel to Blackburn Community on Sunday, September 10, and Radcliffe FC head to Clitheroe Wolves.
