National Conference Rugby League: Egremont Rangers Seal Promotion In Final Games

The National Conference Leagues comes to a close for most sides with Egremont Rangers clinching promotion in their last game of the season.

In the Premier Division most of the sides will finish their regular league season on Saturday, September 9.

After their 28-4 win at home to Kells on Saturday, September 2, Hunslet ARLFC need a point from their game at Hull Dockers if West Hull win at York Acorn.

West Hull could slide in and claim the title after a 32-8 win against Lock Lane but they would need a 82 point swing in their final game.

Rochdale Mayfield have secured third after a 44-12 win over fourth placed Wath Brow Hornets as they finish their season at playoff chasing Siddal while Wath Brow play Wigan St Patricks.

In the battle for the playoff places Thatto Heath Crusaders beat York Acorn 28-26 to move to fifth but only a point separates Thatto, York, Siddal and Lock Lane with two getting into the playoffs.

While York Acorn and Siddal face potential playoff opponents Thatto Heath Crusaders head to Kells as Lock Lane host Leigh Miners Rangers.

Egremont Rangers gained promotion from Division One on Saturday, September 2, with a 24-26 win at Heworth on OURLEAGUE.

After their 20-18 win against Ince Rose Bridge Clock Face Miners sit a point outside the playoff places while Crosfields are two points behind Skirlaugh after their 26-18 win at home to Oulton Raiders.

Stanningley secured their playoff place with a 6-42 victory at Pilkington Recs and West Bowling beat Skirlaugh 28-24.

The regular season comes to a close on Saturday, September 9, with champions West Bowling heading to Ince Rose Bridge and Heworth have already secured their playoff place along with hosts Oulton Raiders leaving them with nothing to play for except momentum going into the playoffs.

Clock Face Miners need to win at Skirlaugh to take the final place from their hosts and while Crosfields can mathematically make the playoffs with a win against Stanningley they would need Clock Face Miners and Skirlaugh to both end up with no points.

Division Two kicked off its penultimate round on Saturday, September 2, and Barrow Island lost 14-24 to potential playoff rivals Woolston Rovers while Wigan St Judes lost 34-0 at Waterhead Warriors as Normanton Knights moved into the final playoff place with a 25-20 win at Dewsbury Celtic, who can still make the playoffs themselves.

Dewsbury Moor Maroons beat East Leeds 22-20, Myton Warriors lost 28-34 to Saddleworth Rangers and Shaw Cross Sharks won 48-6 against Milford.

Playing three games in a week Shaw Cross Sharks lost 6-20 to East Leeds on Wednesday, September 6.

Both sides are in action on Saturday, September 9, as East Leeds finish their season at home to Normanton Knights while Shaw Cross Sharks face the trip to playoff rivals Woolston Rovers.

Barrow Island travel to Saddleworth Rangers needing to win and hope results elsewhere go in their favour with Wigan St Judes facing Dewsbury Moor Maroons and Dewsbury Celtic hosting Waterhead Warriors.

Milford play Myton Warriors with Myton needing a win to take their relegation battle to their final game against Saddleworth Rangers.
