Cumbria Police Appeal For Witnesses And Dashcam Footage Following Fatal Traffic Collision

Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal traffic collision.

Officers are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on Saturday afternoon close to the Cumbria/Scotland border, south of Gretna.

At around 3.30pm at the junction of the A6071 and M6 slip road, over the M6 motorway, a collision occurred involving an Audi A3 and a motorbike.

The motorbike rider, a man in his 60s from the Carlisle area, died at the collision scene. Police then arrested the two occupants of the Audi on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They were still in custody on the evening of Saturday September 2.

The road fully reopened at around 9.10pm, but officers are urging anyone with information that may assist their investigation to get in touch.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage that may have captured the incident or the moments leading up to it.
