National Conference Rugby League: Cumbrian Side Seal Promotion As Another On The Brink

The National Conference Leagues enters its final rounds as one Cumbrian side wins promotion and another is on the brink of promotion.

In the Premier Division all the sides were back in action on Saturday, August 19, as leaders Hunslet ARLFC beat third placed Wath Brow Hornets 26-12 as West Hull kept pace with a 16-26 win at Thatto Heath Crusaders.

Rochdale Mayfield won 6-52 at Hull Dockers while playoff place holders York Acorn drew 18-18 at Siddal.

Lock Lane’s 40-6 win against Wigan St Patrick moves them into sixth as Kells 20-10 win at home to Leigh Miners Rangers secured the Cumbrian sides place in the division.

There is just the one game in the Premier Division on Saturday, August 26, as fourth placed Rochdale Mayfield face Wigan St Patricks.

Champions West Bowling lost 30-22 to Oulton Raiders as they look to seal a playoff place as Stanningley won 8-28 at Ince Rose Bridge.

Pilkington Recs lost 12-26 to Clock Face Miners and Thornhill Trojans were beaten 14-46 by Crosfields.

The Division takes a break and returns on Saturday, September 2.

The Division Two title has been decided as Waterhead Warriors made it back to back promotions.

On Saturday, August 19, second placed Dewsbury Moor Maroons lost 18-6 at Shaw Cross Sharks as Waterhead Warriors stormed to a 12-52 win at Milford.

Wigan St Judes are up to fifth after a 28-10 win over Woolston Rovers as Dewsbury Celtic beat Barrow Island 48-6.

East Leeds return to Division Three with a 16-35 loss to Myton Warriors while Saddleworth Rangers beat Normanton Knights 24-16.

In an early kickoff Waterhead Warriors won 48-10 against Shaw Cross Sharks on Friday, August 25.

Just the one game on Saturday, August 26, as Woolston Rovers look to apply pressure to the sides above them when they face second placed Dewsbury Moor Maroons.

Then two games take place on Tuesday, August 29, as league champions Waterhead Warriors travel to Normanton Knights and Saddleworth Rangers host Shaw Cross Sharks.

Oldham St Annes have claimed the Division Three title by 3 points scored after the final round was played on Saturday, August 19.

The league champions travelled to Bentley where they won 6-38 while Ellenborough beat Hensingham 4-38 to miss out on the title in their first season but sealed promotion to Division Two.

In the penultimate Cumbrian Derby Seaton Rangers lost 6-48 to Millom.

Bentley finish off their season at home to Drighlington on Saturday, August 26.
