Andrea Buggy Women’s League: Workington Diamonds Win Summer Cup

The first of the Andrea Buggy Women’s Summer finals has ended with victory for Workington Diamonds in the all Workington match.

In the Summer Cup final Workington Diamonds took on Xtreme Fitness Ladies at Fibrus Community Stadium on Wednesday, August 16.

After a goalless first half Workington Diamonds broke the deadlock with a free-kick.

They then doubled their lead through Sophie Martin before Kirsty Bates added a third.

Jessica Reid got a consolation for Xtreme Fitness Ladies as the match ended 3-1.

On Wednesday, August 23, Stanwix Junior Ladies take on Allerdale Wildcats at Workington Town RLFC’s Fibrus Community Stadium while Whitehaven AFC Ladies Blue play Penrith AFC Ladies at Workington AFC’s Borough Park with both games kicking off at 7:15pm (19:15).
