Cumbria Police Appeal For Witnesses Amid Assault Leaving Man With Serious Injuries

Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Workington that left a man with serious injuries.

Police were contacted shortly after 6:30pm yesterday, August 15, with a report of a man suffering serious injuries in the area of South William Street.

The man, aged in his 20s from Workington, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment.

Officers believe that the man was assaulted and are making ongoing enquiries to fully establish the circumstances of the incident.

A cordon remains in place in the area.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or holds information about this incident.
