The Cumbrian Bowling season continued as the Counties National representatives head to Royal Leamington Spa.
Two of the Eden Valley Leagues continued along with the West Cumbria Leagues as the games provide surprise results.
Eden Valley Mixed Triples
The Eden Valley Mixed Triples Division One has come to a close with Linton sitting top of the table by one point.

In the Mixed Rinks League, leaders Caldbeck beat Penrith Castle Park 0-8 to extend their lead to ten points as Penrith Friars lost 6-2 at Lazonby on Thursday, August 10.
Fitz Park A lost 3-5 to Appleby as the teams drew on 50 shots each while Fitz Park B won 2-6 at Skelton and Shap were 8-0 winners at Temple Sowerby.

The title challengers in the West Cumbria Triples both lost on Tuesday, August 8.
Harris Park B beat Whitehaven A 9-0 while Egremont recorded a 7-2 win over Cleator Moor as they brought their game forward.
Third placed Harris Park A almost came undone at Maryport as they won 4-5 and fourth placed Wigton lost 2-7 to Seascale Croft 5 Seaton 4, Whitehaven B 9 Vulcan Park 0.

National Finals
The Aviva Bowls England National Finals started on Thursday, August 10 at Royal Leamington Spa.
Kicking off the Finals the Women’s Fours took to the greens for the first session on Thursday.
Cumbria’s quartet of Jeanette Bell, Abbie Bowe, Penny Peile, Nicola Bowe won their First Round match 10-16 against Wiltshire A before losing 24-12 to Cornwall A in the last session of the day.
In the Men Singles Championship Cumbria’s Stuart Bowman was in action on the first day as he beat Essex B’ Andrew Squire 18-21.
In the first session on Friday Bowman won 7-21 against Somerset B’ Tim Salter before falling 10-21 to Durham B’ Barry Hopkins in the afternoon session, which was shown on BowlsTV.

In the Family Pairs Mark and Stuart Irwin were the Cumbria duo and the brothers won their first game on Friday 13-19 against Lincolnshire before losing to the eventual finalist from Northamptonshire 13-16.
Cumbria’s young bowlers were in action on Saturday in the White Rose Trophy where they lost 34-46 to competition winners Kent.
On Sunday two Championships started with Cumbria’s Rachel Forster, Carole Bannister, Victoria Forster in the Women’s Triples.
Playing just the one game the trio won 19-10 against Worcestershire A.
It was a short competition for Cumbria’s Men’s Pairs as Peter Irving and Mark Irwin lost 10-17 to Berkshire A.
