Cumbria Cricket League: No Change As Weather Washes Out All Three Divisions

The Cumbria Cricket League fixtures were abandoned for the second week running as the weather turned wet and wild.

There is no change to the Premier Division table as the rain stopped play on Saturday, July 15.

Furness batted first at Cleator with Yash Dubey scoring 30 and Lewis Gribbin making 22 as the game finished with them on 55.

At Lindal Moor Carlisle were put into bat first and Nico Watt scored 17 and Marc Brown 25 as they reached 58 as the game was called off.

Batting first at home Egremont made 54 against Workington with Ollie Wilford making 12 and Owen Thompson 15.

In the game between Haverigg and Keswick the visiting Keswick reached 9 before the match was abandoned and at Millom Whitehaven scored 15 as the game was called off.

The match between Wigton and Cockermouth managed the highest score of the day as Cockermouth reached 154 with Alex Grainger made 42 and Sameera Sadamal 41.

The Premier Division sides will try again on Saturday, July 22, as Furness host Whitehaven, Carlisle welcome Egremont and Workington face Wigton.

Cockermouth travel to Keswick, Millom head to Haverigg and Lindal Moor take on Cleator.

Division One made a wet return to action on Saturday, July 15 as joint leaders Millom 2nd went to seventh placed Cockermouth 2nd with the match abandoned without a ball being bowled.

While fellow leaders Ulverston traveled to fourth placed Furness 2nd who made 7 before the match was called off.

In the game between Dalton and Workington 2nd the home side were put into bat by Dalton with them finishing on 48.

Sixth placed Seascale will have thanked the rain as they were 3 for the loss of 2 wickets at Hawcoat Park and Kirkby in Furness and Vickerstown didn’t get started due to the rain.

The teams will try again on July 22 as Millom 2nd host Furness 2nd and Ulverston face Workington 2nd.

Hawcoat Park travel to Cockermouth 2nd, Dalton welcome Kirkby in Furness and Vickerstown take on Seascale.

None of Division Two beat the weather on July 15, leaders Whitehaven 2nd win the toss and put second placed Haverigg 2nd into bat.

Kieran Rogan scored 50 as Haverigg reached 68 before the weather stopped play.

Egremont 2nd and Ulverston 2nd got further into their game as Ulverston win the toss and batted first.

Scott Fowler took 6 wickets for 18 runs as Ulverston were bowled out for 67 with a late flurry from Carl Botterill scoring 26.

Egremont reached 28 with Carl Jackson making 15 before being stopped on their way towards the new target of 46 by the weather.

Barrow made it to 11 at home to Lindal Moor 2nd before the match was abandoned while Dalton 2nd and Cleator 2nd didn’t start.

On July 22 Whitehaven 2nd host Dalton 2nd while Haverigg 2nd head to Egremont 2nd as Barrow play Ulverston 2nd and Cleator 2nd face Lindal Moor 2nd.
