National Conference Rugby League: Cumbrian Derbies And Momentum Swings

It is all in the balance for the Cumbrian sides in the National Conference Leagues as they battle at the top and bottom of the divisions.

No change at the top of the Premier Division after Hunslet ARLFC beat Thatto Heath Crusaders 48-0 on Saturday, July 8, as Wath Brow Hornets won 16-2 against Kells in the Cumbrian Derby.

West Hull’s 28-6 win at home to Siddal keeps them joint third with Rochdale Mayfield who won 44-22 against Leigh Miners Rangers.

York Acorn are up to fifth after a 12-22 win at Wigan St Patricks while Lock Lane move five points clear of Hull Dockers in the last relegation place, with a close 20-19 win against them.

Hunslet ARLFC face joint third placed Rochdale Mayfield on Saturday, July 15, while Wath Brow Hornets head to Hull Dockers.

West Hull will look to capitalise at Kells, Siddal take on Thatto Heath Crusaders, Leight Miners Rangers welcome Wigan St Patricks and York Acorn play Lock Lane.

In Division One the top two met as Heworth lost 10-22 as leaders West Bowling extended their lead to 8 points while Egremont Rangers moved into second with a 16-40 win at Stanningley.

Clock Face Miners and Oulton Raiders drew 30-30 and Thornhill Trojans 10-36 to Ince Rose Bridge.

Ince Rose Bridge were back in action on Friday, July 14, as they were beaten 22-28 by Crosfields.

Egremont Rangers host Clock Face Miner and Heworth head to Pilkington Recs as the pair look to close the gap to West Bowling at the top on Saturday, July 15.

Oulton Raiders welcome Thornhill Trojans and Skirlaugh face Stanningley.

The lead of Division Two is still shared as Waterhead Warriors won 90-8 at home to Myton Warriors while Dewsbury Moor Maroons beat Saddleworth Rangers 28-20.

Shaw Cross Sharks are still in second after a 35-20 away to Normanton Knights as Woolston Rovers closed the gap with a 16-24 win at Milford.

Wigan St Judes beat Barrow Island 20-12 and Dewsbury Celtic won 24-0 against East Leeds.

On July 15 Barrow Island host the joint league leaders Waterhead Warriors while Dewsbury Moor Maroons head to Myton Warriors.

Woolston Rovers face Dewsbury Celtic, Shaw Cross Sharks head to East Leeds, Normanton Knights take on Milford and Saddleworth Rangers play Wigan St Judes.

There is a three way tie at the top of Division Three after the last round on July 8.

Millom beat table toppers Oldham St Annes 26-16 while Ellenborough joined them with a 20-18 win over the third team at the top Leigh East.

Beverley won 27-12 at home to Eastmoor Dragons and Hensingham lost 16-26 to Bentley.

On July 15 Oldham St Annes host Drighlington as Leigh East face Seaton Ranger and Ellenborough head to Eastmoor Dragons.

Millom head to Hensingham for a Cumbrian Derby and Bentley take on Beverley.
