The Middleton Cup team top the North A heap up and will know soon if they have a place at the National Final as two County places are finalised.

Eden Valley Mixed Triples Division One leaders Fitz Park A started July with defeat as Dalston took a 6-4 home win on Tuesday, July 4.
Linton continued their upward momentum as they moved into second despite a 4-6 defeat at home to Lazonby while Appleby A won 2-8 at Penrith Friars B to sit a point behind Linton.
Fitz Park B picked up a big 10-0 at home to Shap.

In the battle for fourth Whitehaven B sit above Cleator Moor after a 2-5 win at Vulcan Park while Cleator Moor lost 4-3 at Cockermouth.

Cumbria’s Middleton Cup team travelled Blackhall Bowls Club to play Durham the last group game knowing a win would send them into the quarterfinals on Saturday, July 8.

Cumbria booked their place with a 78-127 victory over Durham taking a 2-20 points win while in the other game Nottinghamshire beat York 138-83 giving them a 20-2 win.
The Middleton team will now face Lincolnshire on Saturday, July 22, with a place at Royal Lemington Spa up for grabs.
Cumbria’s clubs continue to work towards the National Finals with another two booking their places.
In the Senior Fours Workington’s Linda Abram, Tina Smitham, Carole Bannister and Noreen Fleet for qualified for the National Finals with victory in the County Senior Fours.
The Workington quartet defended their 2022 title with a over Maureen Eccles four from Seascale.
Workington Bowling Club will have a second team at the National Finals as the Mixed Fours of Rachel Forster, Vicky Forster, Steven Cook and James Park won 12-13 against Kerry Bowley’s four from Long Eaton, Derbyshire.
