A South Cumbrian Christian hotel is celebrating its 50th birthday with a special concert as they look ‘forward to the next 50’ years.

Thornleigh, on the Esplanade in Grange-over-Sands, will welcome singer Jonathan Viera for an ‘audience with’ style evening on Saturday, August 26.

The team at the hotel, which was established in 1973, has also been painting many items in the building in gold to mark the anniversary.

Jane Walmsley has been the general manager for 15 years. She said: “Jonathan is such a wonderful performer and artist, and we know our guests will have a fabulous evening with him.

“Thornleigh prides itself on being a home away from home for our guests – so much so that often people make their next booking before they’ve even left.

“We hope people will join us in celebrating 50 years and looking forward to the next 50 too.”

The concert will take place at the Victoria Hall in Grange-over-Sands, just a short walk from the hotel itself, and will be an evening not to forget with live music and a warm welcome from this seasoned performer.

Since it opened, Thornleigh has cultivated a reputation for offering themed holidays and high-quality food for Christians of all denominations wanting to visit to the area.

The hotel has 31 ensuite rooms, including singles, conference facilities, and has a large garden just across the Esplanade where guests can enjoy the outdoor space.

Plus, thanks to its location, offers unparalleled views across Morecambe Bay.

Along with the concert and the gold décor, the hotel has also added a ‘Golden Banquet’ to its programme for the year taking place every Tuesday for guests.
